Physiotherapy professionals are concerned with treating every type of injury that causes movement difficulties to healthy people, and pain and functional disabilities to the ill, the handicapped and the elderly by applying the evaluation methods of physiotherapy and rehabilitation for treatment after the diagnosis of a specialist physician. The profession carries important responsibilities in planning and applying courses of treatment that have been developed by physiotherapists throughout the world to increase health and well-being with knowledge and skill.

The goal of the department is to graduate physiotherapists who can contribute to an active and independent life for people who are well or handicapped; who will apply the principles of physiotherapy and rehabilitation with a knowledge-based skill that incorporates approaches that contribute to the quality of life physically, psychologically, socially and environmentally; and who will be able to contribute to society as a whole by contributing to the development and productivity of patients in a wide variety of venues.

Physiotherapists can provide services in health maintenance at sports centers, public and private clinics and hospitals, rehabilitation centers, special education centers and schools for the handicapped, in industrial and work-area health units, in homes for the elderly and in organizations that provide home health care. Those who choose an academic career can continue graduate school education at universities in Turkey or abroad and work as academicians or in clinical practice.
