About

Department Head Songül Boyraz Turhan

A major part of the world population is suffering from acute social issues such as poverty, migration, natural disasters, lack of access to services, domestic violence, child neglect and abuse, and unemployment. Preventing social problems, identifying them at an early stage, and ensuring that individuals become a functioning part of the society can only be possible with social service interventions based on scientific knowledge.

In addition to social workers social work technicians are also needed to preventing and solving social problems.

This department aims to educate professionals that have specific knowledge, skills, and motivation in order to correctly identify social problems, offer appropriate counseling and guidance for effective performance of social work interventions.
