Application Requirements

For Citizens of the Republic of Türkiye:

  • The online application form must be filled in completely. Click here for the application form.
  • Undergraduate Law Degree
  • Master Degree
  • Official Transcript
  • Master’s Thesis
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • ALES | GRE | GMAT: Equiponderant ≥ 65 Foreign Language Proficiency | Foreign Language Exam: YDS / e-YDS / ÜDS / KPDS / YÖKDİL / e-YÖKDİL ≥ 70
  • Grade Point Average: Graduate Program GPA ≥ 3.30 and above
  • Reference Letter: Two reference letters are required.
  • Exam and Interview: Click for exam and interview information.
  • Statement of Purpose: Statement of purpose is required as part of the application process.
  • Program Special Conditions: Only candidates who have graduated from Law undergraduate programs of universities and have a master's degree in any discipline can apply to the program. Candidates with only undergraduate degrees are not accepted to the program.

 

For International Students:

  • Turkish Proficiency Certificate: C2 level Turkish proficiency certificate is required from international student candidates in Turkish PhD’s program.

After the applications are made online, the copy of the application form and other documents should be sent to Melda Otara, Administrative Assistant of Graduate Programs in Law, at melda.otara@bilgi.edu.tr until the application deadline. Subsequently, a confirmation should be received. The candidates whose documents are not received will not be admitted to the interview.

Statement of Purpose: The candidates are required to provide a statement of purpose in Turkish written on the computer on 2 sheets of pager by using only one page of each. In this document, you are expected to explain why you apply to the PhD Program in Public Law, what you aim to do with this education, whether you have any specific field in mind to particularly study and improve your knowledge, the subject of your master’s thesis/project, the subject that you would like to study during your doctoral education, and the research methods that you will use while doing so.

The assessment will be carried out in accordance with the required documents during the application and the interview. The interview will take place with reference to the subjects of public law and your statement of purpose.

 

The hours of the interviews will be announced to the candidates through e-mail.
