About

Dental Prosthetics Technology technicians are healthcare professionals who carry out the laboratory stages of fixed and removable prostheses, orthodontic appliances, and various intraoral and extraoral appliances in line with the impressions taken and instructions provided by dentists. They use the devices, materials, and equipment required in these processes and work in accordance with occupational health and safety, biosafety, and infection control rules in the laboratory environment.

Dental Prosthetics Technology is a dynamic field that combines traditional laboratory practices with digital design and production processes. Today, the increasing use of CAD/CAM systems, three-dimensional production technologies, and digital dentistry applications has made it important to train technicians who can follow current technologies and adapt to these developments.

According to the 2024 health statistics of the Ministry of Health, more than 50,000 dentists are employed in the public sector, universities, and the private sector in Türkiye. The expansion of dental services and the fact that prosthetic treatments are carried out together with laboratory processes increase the need for qualified Dental Prosthetics Technology technicians.

The main aim of the program is to train qualified Dental Prosthetics Technology technicians who receive education based on scientific knowledge in fully equipped laboratory settings, adopt professional ethics and quality standards, and are able to take part in both traditional and current prosthetic production processes.

Dental Prosthetics Technology technicians can work in dental prosthetics laboratories within public institutions, universities, and private healthcare organizations, as well as in private dental prosthetics laboratories. Graduates of the Dental Prosthetics Technology Program may also open their own private dental prosthetics laboratories and continue their profession in their own workplaces, provided that they meet the relevant legal requirements.

Four-year undergraduate programs that graduates may transfer to through DGS (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı / Vertical Transfer Exam) include Health Administration, Health Institutions Management, Health Institutions Administration, and Health Management programs offered by various universities.

The language of instruction of the program is Turkish.
