About

İstanbul Bilgi University began its educational journey in the field of health in 2010. Today, through our Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics, Child Development, Nursing, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, we carry the responsibility and excitement of educating the health professionals of the future.

The main aim of BİLGİ Faculty of Health Sciences is not only to equip students with professional knowledge and skills, but also to help them develop a human-centered, ethical, inclusive, participatory, and rights-based understanding of health. We aim to educate our students to be individuals who understand the changing health needs of society, contribute to promoting well-being, think critically about scientific knowledge, develop evidence-based practices, and assume responsibility in their professions.

Today, the field of health requires not only the treatment of diseases, but also the strengthening of individuals' biopsychosocial well-being, consideration of the social determinants of health, and the development of holistic solutions to the complex health risks of the future. Aging populations, disasters, migration, the climate crisis, social inequalities, digital health technologies, and artificial intelligence applications are reshaping the roles of health systems and health professionals. Within this framework, we place great importance on educating our students to be professionals who can understand evolving health systems, make ethical, evidence-based decisions, adapt to digital transformation, collaborate across disciplines, and generate innovative solutions for the benefit of society.

İstanbul Bilgi University's motto, "Learning not for school, but for life," lies at the heart of our educational approach. At BİLGİ Faculty of Health Sciences, we view the learning environment not merely as a place where students acquire professional knowledge, but as a space for growth where they ask questions, think critically, produce, take responsibility, and develop themselves in multiple dimensions.

As the BİLGİ Faculty of Health Sciences, we are proud to offer a pioneering, productive, and supportive learning environment in the field of health sciences through our expert academic staff, student-centered teaching and learning practices, academic advising and mentoring system, strong advisory board, high-quality research culture, graduation projects, TÜBİTAK projects, interdisciplinary and evidence-based studies, and applied training collaborations with health institutions. The regular positive feedback we receive from practice institutions regarding our students' professional competence, sense of responsibility, communication skills, and human-centered approaches demonstrates the strong reflection of our student-centered and practice-integrated educational approach in the field.

In addition to high-quality theoretical and applied education, our students benefit from the rich academic, social, and cultural environment at İstanbul Bilgi University. They participate in arts and culture events, develop social responsibility projects through student clubs, take active roles in sports festivals and student communities, and carry learning into different areas of life.

As the BİLGİ Faculty of Health Sciences, our vision is to educate health professionals who not only respond to today’s health needs but also contribute to the development of future health systems grounded in human rights, scientific knowledge, ethical responsibility, digital competence, social benefit, and sustainability. Guided by this vision, we place great importance on educating health professionals who regard healthcare as a fundamental human right, a public responsibility, and an ethical obligation, and who act with the understanding that every professional decision and practice may directly impact human life, safety, and well-being.
