About the Program

The PhD Program in Economics equips students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to conduct original, advanced research in accordance with international standards. The program provides a solid foundation in economic theory, quantitative methods, and applied techniques grounded in analytical thinking, and prepares graduates for careers in academia as well as for positions in public institutions, central banks, international organizations, and the private sector.

The program spans eight semesters. In the first four, students complete their coursework, which includes seven electives. By the end of the sixth semester, they take a written and an oral qualifying examination. The final two semesters are dedicated to dissertation research, culminating in the submission and defense of the thesis.
