About Program

Big Data Analytics is a discipline that aims to transform the large and complex volumes of data generated daily in the digital world into meaningful insights. The Big Data Analytics Program at İstanbul Bilgi University offers students comprehensive education in current and critical areas such as statistics, big data technologies, machine learning, data mining, data visualization, data management, artificial intelligence, programming languages, and database management. The program supports theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, preparing students for the professional world, while the use of up-to-date software and programming languages keeps the learning process dynamic. 

As companies increasingly manage their data digitally, graduates of Big Data Analytics play critical roles in decision-making processes across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, energy, and technology. For example, in the finance sector, they can contribute to risk management and the development of investment strategies; in the energy sector, they can support efficiency improvements by analyzing consumption data; and in technology companies, they can help enhance products and services by studying user behavior. In this context, graduates have opportunities to work in a wide range of positions, such as big data analyst, data analyst, data scientist, and business intelligence specialist.

Graduates of the program can start a career directly or continue their education in various undergraduate programs—primarily in Computer Engineering—at İstanbul Bilgi University or other universities through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
