In 1993, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 47/237 to recognize May 15 as the International Day of the Family. The General Assembly adopted Resolution 44/82 on December 9, 1989, and celebrated 1994 as the International Year of the Family. The family is the basic structure through which not only the physical and spiritual development of the individual, but also cultural values, social roles, and healthy living habits are transmitted from generation to generation. In this context, family-based approaches to support the mental health of mothers, especially in the postpartum period, and to prevent postpartum depression are of great importance. The aim of the "Approach to Postpartum Depression after Disasters" event organized by the Area of Excellence on Disasters and Psychological Trauma is to support the family in protecting individuals during fragile periods.
We look forward to seeing you all.
