"Social Resilience and Community Capacities"
Altay-Kaya will discuss the importance of social resilience and the critical role of community capacities in coping with the impacts of the climate crisis. In doing so, she aims at providing a critical overview of the resilience framework.
Deniz Altay-Kaya graduated from METU City and Regional Planning department in 2001. She completed her masters in Urban design in 2004, and her PhD on City and Regional Planning in 2011, at METU. She is Asst. Prof. Dr. at Çankaya University City and REgional Planning department since 2012. Her academic works focus on everyday life, spatial practices, the processes of space/place making; as well as, urban and social resilience approaches and developing a framework for resilience planning.
