In this seminar, Gamze Arman will discuss how cultural differences and diversity shape the management of global workforces. The session will begin with an introduction to Erin Meyer’s cultural dimensions, focusing on variations in communication, feedback, trust and decision-making across cultures. Using cases of expatriates, high-skilled immigrants and multicultural teams, Dr. Arman will illustrate how cultural context influences workplace expectations and behaviors. These cases will lead into a discussion of key HRM issues, including culturally sensitive recruitment and onboarding, cross-cultural communication challenges and designing fair performance management systems. Throughout the session, research findings from cross-cultural psychology and global HRM will be integrated to highlight evidence-based strategies for supporting international employees and strengthening global leadership.
