BİLGİ Department of Textile and Fashion Design student Simay Taner received third prize in Merter Moda 2025 Designers Competition

Simay Taner, a senior student in the Department of Textile and Fashion Design at BİLGİ, was received third prize in the Merter Moda 2025 Designers Competition, organized for the 7^th time this year by Merter Moda to provide a prestigious platform for young talents who will shape the future of the textile industry.

Taner presented her collection titled “Leke,” consisting of two male and one female looks, to the jury at the fashion show held on September 16, 2025. Incorporating the concept of dreams into her designs through her personal experiences, Taner explored themes of purification, lightness, and refreshment through color, texture, and silhouettes. The collection enriches the combination of knitting and weaving with hand knits and patterned jacquard tricots. Developed in ready-to-wear form, the pieces offer a colorful, energetic, and dynamic look for everyday use. Taner oversaw all stages of production for the designs, including pattern making, fabric selection, knitting production, and sewing.
