Our Faculty Members Prof. Ayhan Kaya and Prof. Erdem Günay ranked among the World’s Most Influential Scientists

Prof. Ayhan Kaya, faculty member in the Department of International Relations, and Prof. Erdem Günay, faculty member in the Department of Energy Systems Engineering, have been included in the World’s Most Influential Scientists List prepared by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier, under the single year impact category.

The World’s Most Influential Scientists List, which evaluates the most impactful researchers worldwide each year based on objective indicators, is prepared using citations, the h-index, the co-authorship–adjusted hm-index, and author position metrics. The list, which is prepared in two categories, distinguishes between career-long impact, reflecting scientists’ contributions throughout their entire careers, and single year impact, which highlights research influence based on 2024 data.

Prof. Ayhan Kaya, in the field of international relations, and Prof. Erdem Günay, in the field of physical chemistry, were both recognized in the single year impact category, ranking among the top 2% of scientists worldwide with the highest impact.
