The invention titled ‘A System for Detecting Hand Gestures’ has been patented

The invention titled A System for Detecting Hand Gestures” has been registered as a patent by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. The invention has been co-invented by Assoc. Prof. Tuğba Dalyan from our Department of Computer Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Yiğit Dağhan Gökdel from our Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Abdurrahim Balta, our graduate student in the Computer Engineering Master’s Program, and Hasan Keşoğlu, our graduate student in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Master’s Program.

The invention, which is one of the outputs of the “Smart Home Platform” project supported by the TÜBİTAK SAYEM Program and conducted at our university, is a smart embedded electronic system that monitors the hand hygiene process using artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies and is triggered in response to hand washing gestures.
