TÜBİTAK Support for the ESA RN28 Society and Sport Midterm Conference

The European Sociological Association (ESA) Research Network 28 (RN28) Society and Sport Midterm Conference, titled “Embodied Mobilities: Sport, Body and Social Transformation in the Global South,” for which Assoc. Prof. İlknur Hacısoftaoğlu from our Department of Sports Management serves as the principal investigator, has received support under the TÜBİTAK 2223-B Grant Program for Organizing Scientific Meeting within the Country.

Hosted by our university, the conference will be held on March 27–28, 2026 at the santralistanbul Campus. It aims to examine the intersections of body, mobility, and sport from a critical and intersectional perspective, with a particular focus on discussing sociocultural transformation dynamics in the Global South.
