The film Essence, directed by faculty member İrem Çoban, PhD selected for the ISEA 2026

The film Essence, directed by faculty member İrem Çoban, PhD from our Department of Digital Game Design, has been selected for the 31st International Symposium on Electronic / Emerging Art (ISEA 2026), which will take place in Dubai between April 9–19, 2026. 

Selected by the organization’s Art Jury from among 1,000 submissions worldwide, the short film explores a woman’s spiritual journey through the cycles of birth, life, and death. Bringing together realistic and surreal images generated with artificial intelligence, the film stands out for its fusion of art and technology.

The film was previously screened at the Rome Experimental Video and Performing Festival (February 20–22, 2026) and in a special screening held as part of Turkey Innovation Week 2025.
