SALSA project receives support under the TÜBİTAK-PRIMA Multilateral Cooperation Support Program

The project titled “Sustainable Applications of Leftover Tomato as Agroecological Solution to Improve Crop Protection in Agriculture (SALSA)”, submitted under the TÜBİTAK – PRIMA Multilateral Cooperation Support Program, has been awarded funding. The project will include faculty member Bilge Baş, PhD from the Department of Civil Engineering as the project leader, and faculty member Mahir Yıldırım, PhD from the Department of Industrial Engineering as a researcher.

In the project coordinated by the Università di Torino in Italy, agricultural and industrial wastes- particularly by-products from tomato production and processing- will be used as raw materials to develop bio-based plant protection solutions.
