The film “As We Breathe” by our Department of Film graduates at the Istanbul Film Festival

“As We Breathe,” directed by our Department of Film graduate Şeyhmus Altun and produced by fellow graduate Fevziye Hazal Yazan, continues its festival journey.

The film, a Türkiye–Denmark co-production, will compete in the New Visions section of the Istanbul Film Festival, held between April 9–19. It will also meet audiences at FilmFest Bremen from April 15–19. The film, scheduled to be released in Turkey on May 1, tells the story of 10-year-old Esma in a town shaken by an explosion at a chemical factory.

The film, which had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, has been screened at numerous festivals, including San Sebastián and Göteborg, and has received several awards.
