About the Speaker:

İsmail Kaygısız received his PhD with a dissertation titled “Intersubjectivity and Recognition in Cli-Fi in the Age of the Anthropocene,” from Ege University’s Department of English Literature in 2024. During 2016-2017, Dr. Kaygısız held part-time lecturing positions at Hacettepe University, and in the Fall of 2018, at TED University. Since 2019, he has been serving as a research assistant at Munzur University. Dr. Kaygısız is the series editor for the Turkish edition of A Very Short Introduction, a series published by Oxford University Press and coordinated by İthaki Publishing. His academic interests are interdisciplinary, spanning postcolonial studies, environmental studies, contemporary fiction, climate fiction, and various social and cultural theories.
