We are thrilled to announce that Serra Duran Paralı (Filmmaker, Creative Director) will be our guest with her talk “Film and Architecture: Constructing Image Through Space”

in the 112th episode of Mekan Konuşmaları, hosted by the students of the Graduate Programs in Architecture at BİLGİ. 

Serra Duran Paralı is a filmmaker and creative director working between Paris and Istanbul. Her practice moves fluidly between cinema, space, and image-making, focusing on how light, body, and material construct emotional and perceptual experiences. Drawing from a background in visual arts, she builds hybrid narratives that dissolve the boundaries between fiction and reality. Serra approaches architecture not as a backdrop but as a living organism that shapes the language of film.

In her talk, Duran Paralı will share her experiences exploring how architectural thinking shapes the cinematic image, where light, material, and the human body build emotion through space.
