Prof. Gonca Günay, Vice-Rector for Research

Prof. Gonca Günay completed her secondary and high school education in 1992 in İzmir American High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the Department of Management at Bilkent University in 1996 and MBA degree from Koç University in 1998. In 2004, she received her PhD degree in Business Administration at Dokuz Eylül University. To conduct her research in the field of management and organization, she had been as a visiting scholar at Columbia Business School in 2006 and Postdoctoral Fulbright Fellow at Harvard Business School in 2010.

She started her academic career as a research assistant at İzmir University of Economics and worked at the same university between 2001-2012,  at İstanbul Aydın University between 2012-2013, at İstanbul Bilgi University between 2013-2014, at Kadir Has University between 2014-2015. Since 2015, she has continued her academic studies in the fields of management and organization as a faculty member of İstanbul Bilgi University Department of Business Administration. She has lectured in the fields of management, strategic management, negotiation, creativity and innovation. Her research interests focus on behavioral entrepreneurship and women’s studies.

Assoc. Prof. Yiğit Dağhan Gökdel, Advisor to the Rector

Yiğit Dağhan Gökdel graduated from İstanbul Saint Joseph High School in 1999. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Bilkent University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in 2004 and received his master’s and PhD degree from Boğaziçi University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in 2007 and 2011 respectively. He worked at UT-Austin Biomedical Engineering Department as a postdoctoral researcher in 2012. Since 2013, he has been a faculty member at İstanbul Bilgi University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. His research topics include biomedical and optical microsystems, microelectromechanical systems, and sensor technologies.


Belgin Aytun Kahraman, Director of Technology Transfer Office

In 2008, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Ege University in Biology. In 2011, she completed her master's degree at İzmir Institute of Technology in the department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. She was granted the ‘Bourse Master Ile-de-France’ scholarship and completed her master's degree in the field of Systems and Synthetic Biology at Evry-Val-d'Essonne University in 2012. She participated in the MBA program at Pisa University in 2013, prepared business plans for startup companies, and gave investor presentations of academic startups. She completed her thesis on venture capital in 2015.

In 2016, she worked in R&D, Product Development and Business Development departments of Teco Diagnostics, a company that produces in-vitro diagnostics test kits and bio-medical devices in Anaheim, California, USA. During this time, she volunteered for the ‘AWIS Association for Women in Science’.

Between 2017-2020, she worked as an Incubation Center Specialist at İstanbul Şehir University, Şehir Technology Transfer Office, and carried out entrepreneurship and incorporation activities in the TÜBİTAK 1513 Technology Transfer Offices Support Program project. In 2018-2020, she took part in the coordination of the EU-funded IPA II project ‘Growth and Acceleration Programme for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises’. She worked at Marmara University, Innovation and Technology Transfer Application and Research Center (MİTTO) in 2020 as an Entrepreneurship and Incorporation Specialist within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1513 Technology Transfer Offices Support Program project. She started to work as the director of the Projects Office at İstanbul Bilgi University in 2021. She is experienced in designing and running programs for the commercialization of academic and student technology-based business ideas, training and mentoring, and entrepreneur-investor relations.


Elif Reis, Technology Transfer Office Project Specialist

Elif Reis earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in 2010, double majoring in English and Cultural Studies. She enrolled in İstanbul Bilgi University Cultural Studies master’s program in 2010. Between 2013 and 2018, she worked at the Foundation for Sciences and Arts’ (BİSAV) Center for Turkish Cinema Studies, a project whose first phase was founded by the Istanbul Development Agency (İSTKA). In 2018, she started working at the İstanbul Şehir University Technology Transfer Office as the Sponsored Projects Specialist, contributing to development, management, and financial reporting processes of various national and international projects. In 2021, she joined the İstanbul Bilgi University Technology Transfer Office.


Melis Zeybek, Technology Transfer Office Project Assistant Specialist

Melis Zeybek graduated from Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBÜ) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Business Administration. She carried out the project titled ‘Awareness in Organ Donation’ with the support of MCBÜ Faculty of Medicine and Manisa Provincial Health Directorate. She participated in First Chance  Program developed and supported by Esas Social under ESAS Holding in 2019 and worked as financial affairs specialist in Darüşşafaka Society. Within the program, she participated in support projects conducted in the field of civil society in collaboration with many non-governmental organizations. She completed 21st Century Competencies and Mentorship trainings. She is currently working as project assistant specialist in İstanbul Bilgi University Technology Transfer Office. She provides support for education, admission, and awareness related works, the human resources processes of projects, and management of internal funds.


Hilal Mula, Project Accountant

Hilal Mula worked in İstanbul Bilgi University Press between 2008-2010. She worked in İstanbul Bilgi University Financial Planning and Analysis Department between 2010-2011. Since 2013, she has been working in Financial Accounting Department and  responsible from accounting and financial reporting processes of all internally and externally funded projects.
