HÜMA TAŞ

Hüma Taş graduated from Gazi University, English Language Teaching Department in 2005. She holds an M.A degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Sakarya University. She has a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from University of Toronto.  She attended Cambridge Train the Trainer course. She received Leading for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education certificate upon completion of an online course offered by University of Michigan. She has been working in the field of EFL for 16 years. She worked as an instructor in the department of English Language Teacher Education at İstanbul Bilgi University for 3 years. She is currently working as an instructor and a teacher trainer in English Language Programs Preparatory School at İstanbul Bilgi University. Hüma is particularly interested in social responsibility and teacher education and development.

İLKAY BÜLBÜL

İlkay Bülbül holds her BA and MA degrees in ELT from Boğaziçi University. She has over twenty years of experience in the field as a language instructor and lecturer. Since 2003, she has been working at the English Language Programs at İstanbul Bilgi University, where she has taught EAP courses as well as General English classes at all levels and for all skills. She also worked in the curriculum and assessment offices of the Bilgi Preparatory Program for numerous years, mainly responsible for the exit level of the program. During her time in the curriculum office, she served as a member of the CEA (Commission on English Language Programs Accreditation) Steering Committee preparing for the initial CEA accreditation of the program. Later, she worked as the Steering Committee Coordinator for the CEA reaccreditation process of the program, which resulted in an accreditation grant for ten years from 2021 through 2031, and served as the ALO support for the WSCUC (WASC Senior College and University Commission) accreditation process of İstanbul Bilgi University. Mrs. Bülbül has been involved in voluntary work for the quality assurance practices in language education both in international and national organizations. She has been a member of DEDAK (Dil Eğitimi Değerlendirme ve Akreditasyon Derneği) since 2019 and has been in charge of the accreditation processes in DEDAK as the Accreditation Coordinator. She is a trained CEA and DEDAK peer reviewer.

EVA BÜYÜKSİMKEŞYAN

Eva Buyuksimkesyan graduated from Marmara University, English Language Teaching Department in 1989. After her graduation, she attended several professional development courses to improve her teaching skills at British Council. She also attended BritishSide Train the Trainer course and SLTEP. Currently she is working as an instructor and a teacher trainer at Bilgi University. She has been blogging at evasimkesyan.com since 2009. She is interested in creative writing and integrating technology to teaching English.

SABRİ AĞIRMAN

Sabri Ağırman got his BA Degree (1992) and MA Degree (1996) in English Language from Anadolu University and worked as a research assistant and language teaching instructor at the same institution until 1999. Then, he started to work at Bilgi University English Preparatory School as a language instructor in 1999. In 2001 he got a Teacher Trainer Certificate after completing the Teacher Training Program organized by Bilgi University in collaboration with Bilkent University. He has worked as a Teacher Trainer at Bilgi Teacher Development Center since then. During his professional career as a Teacher Trainer, he was involved in accreditation processes as a committee member (EQUALS in 2005, CEA in 2015, WASC in 2021). Currently, Sabri Ağırman is a Teacher Trainer at English Language Preparatory School Teacher Development Center and ‘Academic Professional Development Expert’ (Bilgi Institutional Development and Quality Coordination Office).
