Emergencies

A psychological crisis may occur due to the lack or altering of habitual coping mechanisms because of external and/or internal causes. Sometimes in these types of urgent situations it is needed to see a specialist immediately. In such an urgent situation you may see a specialist from the Psychological Counseling Unit during working hours (weekdays 09:00-17:00). You can either call our assistant or send an e-mail or come over to the offices in the campuses to get an appointment. If you have urgency and need to see a specialist immediately out of the working hours, you may contact the following hospitals other than our university / department..

As of April 2020, Psychological Counseling Unit meetings will be held through “Skype” or “Zoom” applications because of the current conditions.

In case of emergencies, it is recommended to reach to PCU offices during working hours without waiting for a call. Sometimes responding to e-mails can take time. If you have an emergency that cannot wait, it is recommended to reach out to the nearest health facility.
